| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Gary Gandara can take well-deserved pride in the |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, In a job that requires effective collaboration with |

| 10 | 11 | | administrators, classroom teachers, and parents, Mr. Gandara has |

| 11 | 12 | | worked tirelessly to ensure the best possible instruction and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | resources for pupils by making policy decisions that promote |

| 13 | 14 | | academic achievement and advance the quality of the district's |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | schools; and |

| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, A graduate of Socorro High School, Mr. Gandara |

| 16 | 17 | | served on the Socorro City Council from 2002 to 2007 and was elected |

| 17 | 18 | | to the area school board in 2009; he is employed as the vice |

| 18 | 19 | | president of operations for Socorro Iron and Metal, and he |

| 19 | 20 | | concurrently holds a seat on the board of the El Paso Central |

| 20 | 21 | | Appraisal District; and |

| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Through his unwavering commitment to Socorro ISD |

| 22 | 23 | | students and staff, Gary Gandara is leading the way in fostering a |

| 23 | 24 | | supportive and challenging educational environment, and he has |

| 24 | 25 | | earned the deep respect and appreciation of his fellow Texans; now, |

| 26 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
