H.R. No. 2184
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Gary Gandara can take well-deserved pride in the
outstanding service he has rendered to the residents of his
community as a member of the Socorro Independent School District
Board of Trustees; and
WHEREAS, In a job that requires effective collaboration with
administrators, classroom teachers, and parents, Mr. Gandara has
worked tirelessly to ensure the best possible instruction and
resources for pupils by making policy decisions that promote
academic achievement and advance the quality of the district's
schools; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of Socorro High School, Mr. Gandara
served on the Socorro City Council from 2002 to 2007 and was elected
to the area school board in 2009; he is employed as the vice
president of operations for Socorro Iron and Metal, and he
concurrently holds a seat on the board of the El Paso Central
Appraisal District; and
WHEREAS, Through his unwavering commitment to Socorro ISD
students and staff, Gary Gandara is leading the way in fostering a
supportive and challenging educational environment, and he has
earned the deep respect and appreciation of his fellow Texans; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby honor Gary Gandara for his service on the
Socorro ISD Board of Trustees and extend to him sincere best wishes
for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, Than an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Gandara as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
