| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Patrick Crawford of the Texas Academy of Biomedical |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since 1985, local businesses and organizations have |

| 9 | 10 | | partnered with the Fort Worth ISD to celebrate outstanding teachers |

| 10 | 11 | | in the district; at each school, faculty members nominate |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | colleagues who are full-time, certified, and highly qualified |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | classroom teachers and then elect one who has excelled at earning |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | the respect of students, parents, and colleagues alike and at |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | inspiring students of all backgrounds and abilities to learn; and |

| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, One of 133 individuals honored at the Campus |

| 16 | 17 | | Teachers of the Year Reception on April 7, 2015, Patrick Crawford |

| 17 | 18 | | teaches dual-credit world civilizations and pre-AP world history |

| 18 | 19 | | classes at the Texas Academy of Biomedical Sciences and offers a |

| 19 | 20 | | pre-AP government course at Tarrant County College; he also serves |

| 20 | 21 | | as a UIL sponsor and works with the YMCA Youth and Government |

| 21 | 22 | | program, which helps students understand how legislation is drafted |

| 22 | 23 | | and which gives them an opportunity to attend district and state |

| 23 | 24 | | conferences modeled after the state legislature; moreover, he has |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | been able to share with students in this program his own experience, |

| 25 | 26 | | having proposed a measure concerning dual-credit courses to his |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | state representative and having testified in its behalf before the |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | House Public Education Committee; and |

| 28 | 29 | | WHEREAS, A graduate of Texas Tech University and Tarleton |

| 29 | 30 | | State University, this dynamic educator has been further recognized |

| 30 | 31 | | for his dedication and expertise with a nomination for the |

| 31 | 32 | | Humanities Texas Outstanding Teacher Award; and |

| 32 | 33 | | WHEREAS, Patrick Crawford has upheld the highest standards of |

| 33 | 34 | | his profession, fostering a positive educational environment for |

| 34 | 35 | | students while striving to equip them with a sound academic |

| 35 | 36 | | foundation, and he is indeed deserving of this most recent |

| 37 | 38 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
