 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Patrick Crawford of the Texas Academy of Biomedical
 Sciences has been named a 2015 Campus Teacher of the Year by the
 Fort Worth Independent School District; and
 WHEREAS, Since 1985, local businesses and organizations have
 partnered with the Fort Worth ISD to celebrate outstanding teachers
 in the district; at each school, faculty members nominate
 colleagues who are full-time, certified, and highly qualified
 classroom teachers and then elect one who has excelled at earning
 the respect of students, parents, and colleagues alike and at
 inspiring students of all backgrounds and abilities to learn; and
 WHEREAS, One of 133 individuals honored at the Campus
 Teachers of the Year Reception on April 7, 2015, Patrick Crawford
 teaches dual-credit world civilizations and pre-AP world history
 classes at the Texas Academy of Biomedical Sciences and offers a
 pre-AP government course at Tarrant County College; he also serves
 as a UIL sponsor and works with the YMCA Youth and Government
 program, which helps students understand how legislation is drafted
 and which gives them an opportunity to attend district and state
 conferences modeled after the state legislature; moreover, he has
 been able to share with students in this program his own experience,
 having proposed a measure concerning dual-credit courses to his
 state representative and having testified in its behalf before the
 House Public Education Committee; and
 WHEREAS, A graduate of Texas Tech University and Tarleton
 State University, this dynamic educator has been further recognized
 for his dedication and expertise with a nomination for the
 Humanities Texas Outstanding Teacher Award; and
 WHEREAS, Patrick Crawford has upheld the highest standards of
 his profession, fostering a positive educational environment for
 students while striving to equip them with a sound academic
 foundation, and he is indeed deserving of this most recent
 accolade; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Patrick Crawford on being named the
 2015 Texas Academy of Biomedical Sciences Campus Teacher of the
 Year by the Fort Worth Independent School District and extend to him
 sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Crawford as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
