| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Eugenio and Felipa Garza Mendoza, |

| 9 | 10 | | the former Petra Mendoza was born in Robstown on January 31, 1949, |

| 10 | 11 | | and grew up in the company of five sisters and three brothers; and |

| 11 | 12 | | WHEREAS, She was joined in matrimony to Rodolfo Villarreal |

| 12 | 13 | | Sr., and together they shared a rewarding marriage until his |

| 13 | 14 | | passing; the couple became the parents of four children, Rudy, |

| 14 | 15 | | Juanita, Augustine, and Julie, and their family later grew to |

| 15 | 16 | | include two additional generations; Mrs. Villarreal was employed |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | as a custodian for the Calallen Independent School District for |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | many years; and |

| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Although Petra Villarreal is deeply missed, |

| 19 | 20 | | memories of happy times spent in her company will forever be |

| 20 | 21 | | cherished by all those who knew and loved her; now, therefore, be it |

| 21 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 22 | 23 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Petra M. Villarreal |
