45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Grayland Arnold of Kountze High School received
67 well-deserved recognition when he was named Most Valuable Player of
78 the 2015 Super Gold Basketball team by the Beaumont Enterprise; and
89 WHEREAS, A junior guard, Mr. Arnold enjoyed a stellar
910 campaign, averaging 24 points, 6.7 assists, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.9
1011 steals per game, as well as recording three triple-doubles, en
1112 route to leading the Lions to a 33-7 record and a trip to the
1213 University Interscholastic League 3A state semifinals; moreover,
1314 he earned District 23-3A MVP honors, and he served as a leader and
1415 mentor to his younger teammates; and
1516 WHEREAS, This multitalented young Texan is a standout on the
1617 Kountze football squad as well, and his skills on the gridiron have
1718 earned him a scholarship to continue his athletic career at Baylor
1819 University; and
1920 WHEREAS, The hard work and commitment to excellence of
2021 Grayland Arnold have been rewarded with this prestigious accolade,
2122 and he may take justifiable pride in his accomplishments as he looks
2223 ahead to a future bright with promise; now, therefore, be it
2324 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2425 Legislature hereby congratulate Grayland Arnold on his selection as
2526 the 2015 Super Gold Basketball MVP and extend to him sincere best
2627 wishes for continued success; and, be it further
2728 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2829 prepared for Mr. Arnold as an expression of high regard by the Texas
2930 House of Representatives.
