| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Fernie Madrid can take well-deserved pride in the |

| 7 | 8 | | the San Elizario Independent School District Board of Trustees; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, In a job that requires the commitment of public |

| 9 | 10 | | support and effective collaboration with parents, teachers, and |

| 10 | 11 | | administrators, Mr. Madrid has worked tirelessly to advance the |

| 11 | 12 | | quality of schools in his district; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, This notable Texan has held a number of leadership |

| 13 | 14 | | positions during his 22-year tenure with the board, serving several |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | terms as secretary and vice president; a graduate of San Elizario |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | High School, he works in retail management with Walmart; and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Through his unwavering dedication to the students |

| 17 | 18 | | and staff of San Elizario ISD, Fernie Madrid has helped foster a |

| 18 | 19 | | supportive and challenging educational environment, and in so |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | doing, he has earned the respect and appreciation of his fellow |

| 20 | 21 | | residents; now, therefore, be it |

| 21 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 22 | 23 | | Legislature hereby honor Fernie Madrid for his service on the San |
