H.R. No. 2211
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Fernie Madrid can take well-deserved pride in the
outstanding service he has rendered to his community as a member of
the San Elizario Independent School District Board of Trustees; and
WHEREAS, In a job that requires the commitment of public
support and effective collaboration with parents, teachers, and
administrators, Mr. Madrid has worked tirelessly to advance the
quality of schools in his district; and
WHEREAS, This notable Texan has held a number of leadership
positions during his 22-year tenure with the board, serving several
terms as secretary and vice president; a graduate of San Elizario
High School, he works in retail management with Walmart; and
WHEREAS, Through his unwavering dedication to the students
and staff of San Elizario ISD, Fernie Madrid has helped foster a
supportive and challenging educational environment, and in so
doing, he has earned the respect and appreciation of his fellow
residents; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby honor Fernie Madrid for his service on the San
Elizario ISD Board of Trustees and extend to him sincere best wishes
for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Madrid as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
