R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Tropicana Homes of El Paso was named the 2013
J. B. Sandlin Builder of the Year by the Texas Association of
Builders at its annual Housing Hall of Fame and Excellence in
Leadership dinner; and
WHEREAS, Each year, the Texas Association of Builders
recognizes members who have demonstrated significant involvement
in state, local, and national associations; and
WHEREAS, Since its founding in 1950, Tropicana Homes has been
owned and operated by the Bowling family, and the company has built
more than 10,000 homes, as well as apartments and parks in the El
Paso area; the business has earned a number of awards through the
years, while the Bowlings have been recognized for their notable
community efforts, including the support of local charities and
nonprofits; and
WHEREAS, Enterprises that employ area residents and
contribute to the economic vitality of their region are essential
to the prosperity of the Lone Star State, and Tropicana Homes is
most deserving of this prestigious recognition as a testament to
the significant role it plays in the city of El Paso; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Tropicana Homes on being named the
2013 J. B. Sandlin Builder of the Year and extend to all involved
with the company sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Tropicana Homes as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
