45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever treasure their
67 memories of Richard Guinn Brown of Azle, who died on April 1, 2015,
78 at the age of 76; and
89 WHEREAS, The son of Fred and Zena Brown, Richard Brown was the
910 devoted husband of Carol Brown and the proud father of three
1011 daughters, Paula, Kathy, and Jennifer; later in life he was blessed
1112 with four grandchildren, Danny Woodruff, Evan Hurst, Taylar Graf,
1213 and the late Michelle Woodruff, and three great-grandchildren; and
1314 WHEREAS, Mr. Brown had a long and varied career that included
1415 tenures as a store manager for Goodyear, a real estate broker in
1516 Denton and Cooke Counties, a parking enforcement officer in Denton,
1617 and a school crossing guard in Fort Worth; and
1718 WHEREAS, This proud conservative was also engaged in
1819 politics, and in 1994, he was elected as the first Republican
1920 commissioner in Cooke County, serving Precinct 2; he was an active
2021 volunteer in his community as well, working with Community Link
2122 Mission and Meals on Wheels; in his free time, he took great
2223 pleasure in gospel and bluegrass music; and
2324 WHEREAS, A devoted family man and a champion for his
2425 political beliefs, Richard Brown lived a rich and purposeful life,
2526 and he leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire all
2627 those who knew and loved him; now, therefore, be it
2728 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2829 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Richard Guinn Brown
2930 and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his
3031 wife, Carol Brown; to his daughters, Paula Elliott and her husband,
3132 Shawn, Kathy Graf and her husband, Karl, and Jennifer Pittman and
3233 her husband, Karr; to his grandsons, Danny Woodruff and Evan Hurst;
3334 to his granddaughter, Taylar Graf; to his great-granddaughters,
3435 Ellis, Oliana, and Keonna Woodruff; to his sisters, Barbara Bolton
3536 and her husband, Leslie, and Fredene Fenter and her husband,
3637 Truett; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further
3738 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3839 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
3940 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Richard
4041 Guinn Brown.
