H.R. No. 2252 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever treasure their memories of Richard Guinn Brown of Azle, who died on April 1, 2015, at the age of 76; and WHEREAS, The son of Fred and Zena Brown, Richard Brown was the devoted husband of Carol Brown and the proud father of three daughters, Paula, Kathy, and Jennifer; later in life he was blessed with four grandchildren, Danny Woodruff, Evan Hurst, Taylar Graf, and the late Michelle Woodruff, and three great-grandchildren; and WHEREAS, Mr. Brown had a long and varied career that included tenures as a store manager for Goodyear, a real estate broker in Denton and Cooke Counties, a parking enforcement officer in Denton, and a school crossing guard in Fort Worth; and WHEREAS, This proud conservative was also engaged in politics, and in 1994, he was elected as the first Republican commissioner in Cooke County, serving Precinct 2; he was an active volunteer in his community as well, working with Community Link Mission and Meals on Wheels; in his free time, he took great pleasure in gospel and bluegrass music; and WHEREAS, A devoted family man and a champion for his political beliefs, Richard Brown lived a rich and purposeful life, and he leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire all those who knew and loved him; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Richard Guinn Brown and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his wife, Carol Brown; to his daughters, Paula Elliott and her husband, Shawn, Kathy Graf and her husband, Karl, and Jennifer Pittman and her husband, Karr; to his grandsons, Danny Woodruff and Evan Hurst; to his granddaughter, Taylar Graf; to his great-granddaughters, Ellis, Oliana, and Keonna Woodruff; to his sisters, Barbara Bolton and her husband, Leslie, and Fredene Fenter and her husband, Truett; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Richard Guinn Brown.
