 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Members of Christian Faith Missionary Baptist
 Church/God With Us Ministries in Houston are celebrating the
 installation of their new senior pastor, the Reverend Roland
 E. Mouton Jr., on May 15, 2015; and
 WHEREAS, A graduate of Sterling High School in Houston,
 Reverend Mouton attended Baylor University and Stephen F. Austin
 University; heeding his call to the ministry, he returned to
 Houston in 1984 to attend the Union Baptist College and Seminary; he
 later received his bachelor of theology from Cornerstone University
 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and his master's degree from Grace
 Divinity College and Seminary; and
 WHEREAS, This respected clergyman was pastor of New Emmanuel
 Baptist Church in Lake Charles for 26 years, and he has preached in
 various other parts of the country; he is a member of the
 Independent Missionary Baptist General Association of Texas and has
 served on a number of boards and committees in the Louisiana
 jurisdiction; in appreciation for his work, he was awarded an
 honorary doctor of divinity degree from Elbon Solutions College and
 Seminary in Apple Valley, California; and
 WHEREAS, Since coming to the congregation of God With Us
 Ministries, Pastor Mouton has worked to convert a new space for
 worship; he also is an advocate for school improvement, child
 welfare, and educational opportunity; and
 WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Pastor Mouton is supported by
 a loving family that includes his wife, Lisa Goodley Mouton, their
 children, Liaundra Nae, Christopher Andrew, JeTyren Jacoby, and
 Rose Elissa, and their grandchildren, Chloe and DeZyre; and
 WHEREAS, The installation of Pastor Mouton marks the
 beginning of a momentous new chapter in the life of this notable
 church, and members of the congregation may indeed look forward to a
 future of meaningful fellowship under his guidance; now, therefore,
 be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate the Reverend Roland E. Mouton Jr.
 on his installation as senior pastor of Christian Faith Missionary
 Baptist Church/God With Us Ministries and extend to him sincere
 best wishes for the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Pastor Mouton as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
