45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Darin Allen, a senior at Bruceville-Eddy High
67 School, has signed a national letter of intent to continue his
78 athletic career at the collegiate level; and
89 WHEREAS, A gifted long-distance runner for the
910 Bruceville-Eddy cross-country and track and field squads,
1011 Mr. Allen will compete in both sports and pursue his studies at West
1112 Texas A&M University in Canyon; and
1213 WHEREAS, Mr. Allen qualified for the UIL cross country state
1314 championships for four consecutive years, and he finished in second
1415 place overall in Class 3A competition at the 2014 state meet; as a
1516 member of the Eagles track team, he won the 2013 district
1617 championship in the 3,200-meter race and took part in the regional
1718 meet on three occasions; moreover, he was a three-time selection to
1819 the Cross Country Coaches Association of Texas All-State Team; and
1920 WHEREAS, This exceptional student-athlete has demonstrated a
2021 tireless work ethic and an enduring commitment to excellence, and
2122 he may take great pride in all that he has accomplished as he looks
2223 ahead to a future bright with promise; now, therefore, be it
2324 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2425 Legislature hereby congratulate Darin Allen on signing a national
2526 letter of intent to run for the West Texas A&M University
2627 cross-country and track and field teams and extend to him sincere
2728 best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
2829 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2930 prepared for Mr. Allen as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3031 House of Representatives.
