 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Darin Allen, a senior at Bruceville-Eddy High
 School, has signed a national letter of intent to continue his
 athletic career at the collegiate level; and
 WHEREAS, A gifted long-distance runner for the
 Bruceville-Eddy cross-country and track and field squads,
 Mr. Allen will compete in both sports and pursue his studies at West
 Texas A&M University in Canyon; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Allen qualified for the UIL cross country state
 championships for four consecutive years, and he finished in second
 place overall in Class 3A competition at the 2014 state meet; as a
 member of the Eagles track team, he won the 2013 district
 championship in the 3,200-meter race and took part in the regional
 meet on three occasions; moreover, he was a three-time selection to
 the Cross Country Coaches Association of Texas All-State Team; and
 WHEREAS, This exceptional student-athlete has demonstrated a
 tireless work ethic and an enduring commitment to excellence, and
 he may take great pride in all that he has accomplished as he looks
 ahead to a future bright with promise; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Darin Allen on signing a national
 letter of intent to run for the West Texas A&M University
 cross-country and track and field teams and extend to him sincere
 best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Allen as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
