| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Glenn Bickerdike of Marshall has deservedly been |

| 6 | 7 | | honored with the 2015 Sam B. Hall Jr. Civic Service Award from East |

| 7 | 8 | | Texas Baptist University, and this achievement provides a fitting |

| 8 | 9 | | acknowledgment of his many diverse contributions to the betterment |

| 9 | 10 | | of his community; and |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | WHEREAS, President of the local BancorpSouth branch and |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | former ETBU Board of Trustees member, Mr. Bickerdike has lived in |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | Marshall for more than 13 years, during which period he has been an |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | active member of myriad noteworthy groups, including the Citizens |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | Advisory Commission and the Turney Foundation; the 2014 Marshall |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Citizen of the Year, he has served in leadership roles with such |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | organizations as the United Way of Harrison County and the Board of |

| 17 | 18 | | Directors of Good Shepherd Medical Center, and he is the chair of |

| 18 | 19 | | the Yes Matters political action committee; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Bickerdike graduated from John Tyler High |

| 20 | 21 | | School and The University of Texas at Tyler; he began his |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | professional career in 1991, working in Lufkin for Nations Bank and |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | then Merrill Lynch, before moving to Marshall in 2001; and |

| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Bickerdike enjoys the love |

| 24 | 25 | | and support of his wife, Karen, and his three children, Chase, Cade, |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | and Kendall; he is also a valued member of Immanuel Baptist Church |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | of Marshall, where he serves as a deacon; and |

| 27 | 28 | | WHEREAS, East Texas is fortunate to have passionate and |

| 28 | 29 | | engaged residents like Glenn Bickerdike, whose history of civic |

| 29 | 30 | | involvement is an inspiration to all who know him; now, therefore, |
