| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Ken Bedford is retiring as a school resource officer |

| 6 | 7 | | with the North Richland Hills Police Department on June 5, 2015, |

| 7 | 8 | | concluding an exemplary career that spanned more than 30 years; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Officer Bedford began his tenure with the department |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | on March 1, 1985; he served as a patrol officer and went on to become |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | a school resource officer, working in the community services |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | section at both the middle and high school levels; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Officer Bedford has been |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | recognized for his exceptional work; he has received 68 letters of |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | commendation for his dedication to his community and to students |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | and school personnel, and he has attained safe driving awards for |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | both 20-year and 25-year milestones; and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Officer Ken Bedford's steadfast commitment to |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | public safety has greatly benefited the citizens of North Richland |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | Hills, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a career well spent |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | as he embarks on the next exciting chapter of his life; now, |

| 21 | 22 | | therefore, be it |

| 22 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 23 | 24 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Officer Ken Bedford on his |
