H.R. No. 2289 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Ken Bedford is retiring as a school resource officer with the North Richland Hills Police Department on June 5, 2015, concluding an exemplary career that spanned more than 30 years; and WHEREAS, Officer Bedford began his tenure with the department on March 1, 1985; he served as a patrol officer and went on to become a school resource officer, working in the community services section at both the middle and high school levels; and WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Officer Bedford has been recognized for his exceptional work; he has received 68 letters of commendation for his dedication to his community and to students and school personnel, and he has attained safe driving awards for both 20-year and 25-year milestones; and WHEREAS, Officer Ken Bedford's steadfast commitment to public safety has greatly benefited the citizens of North Richland Hills, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a career well spent as he embarks on the next exciting chapter of his life; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Officer Ken Bedford on his retirement from the North Richland Hills Police Department and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Officer Bedford as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
