| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and |

| 7 | 8 | | of Eugenie Avery of Winnetka, Illinois, who passed away on |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Born in Shaker Heights, Ohio, Jean Avery graduated |

| 10 | 11 | | from Smith College; in 1934, she married William H. Avery, and the |

| 11 | 12 | | couple raised three children, Nancy, Cameron, and Richard; with the |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | passing years, their family grew to include a son-in-law, Paul |

| 13 | 14 | | Pressler, and two daughters-in-law, Lynn Donaldson and Judy Avery, |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | as well as 8 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; and |

| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, This civic-minded individual participated in a |

| 16 | 17 | | number of worthy organizations and groups, including the Winnetka |

| 17 | 18 | | Presbyterian Church, which she served as an elder and deacon; she |

| 18 | 19 | | was also a member of the Fortnightly of Chicago, the Antiquarian |

| 19 | 20 | | Society of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Town and Country Arts |

| 20 | 21 | | Club, and the Kenilworth Garden Club; and |

| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Blessed with a devoted family and admiring friends, |

| 22 | 23 | | Jean Avery was a source of joy and inspiration to all who shared in |

| 23 | 24 | | the richness of her life; now, therefore, be it |

| 24 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 25 | 26 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Eugenie Avery and |
