5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The family and friends of Ethel Mae Wolfe of Houston |

6 | 7 | | are mourning the passing of this beloved woman on January 20, 2014, |

7 | 8 | | at the age of 66; and |

8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Born in Ogden, Utah, on June 9, 1947, to Bonnie and |

9 | 10 | | Leroy Haddock, Mrs. Wolfe grew up in Northwest Tennessee; inspired |
---|
10 | 11 | | by her uncle, a minister, she graduated from the University of |
---|
11 | 12 | | Tennessee and went on to earn two master's degrees from |
---|
12 | 13 | | Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth; and |
---|
13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, After moving to Houston, Mrs. Wolfe found |
---|
14 | 15 | | employment as the assistant director of the Fletcher Street Mission |
---|
15 | 16 | | Center; over the years, she also worked for the food stamp office |
---|
16 | 17 | | and for child welfare and child protective services, managed her |
---|
17 | 18 | | husband's CPA and law offices, and served as a youth counselor; she |
---|
18 | 19 | | concluded her career as an 11th-grade English teacher at Lamar High |
---|
19 | 20 | | School and as an elected trustee for the Cypress-Fairbanks |
---|
20 | 21 | | Independent School District; and |
---|
21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, The former Ethel Haddock married Bob Wolfe on |
---|
22 | 23 | | December 21, 1974, and they became the proud parents of two sons, |
---|
23 | 24 | | Michael and Jeffrey; Mrs. Wolfe cherished the time she spent with |
---|
24 | 25 | | her children and with her two beloved granddaughters, Loryn and |
---|
25 | 26 | | Addisyn; and |
---|
26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Ethel Wolfe's days were rich in family, friends, and |
---|
27 | 28 | | meaningful achievements, and those who were blessed to share in her |
---|
28 | 29 | | love and affection will forever hold her close in their hearts; now, |
---|
29 | 30 | | therefore, be it |

30 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

31 | 32 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Ethel Mae Wolfe and |

32 | 33 | | extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her sons, |

33 | 34 | | Michael and Jeffrey; to her granddaughters, Loryn and Addisyn; to |

34 | 35 | | her sister, Gloria; to her brother, Leroy; and to her other |
