5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Agnes Schramm Fisher McClosky of Houston passed away |

6 | 7 | | on September 24, 2013, at the age of 89, leaving her circle of |

7 | 8 | | family and friends to cherish their many happy memories of time |

8 | 9 | | spent in her company; and |
---|
9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, The oldest daughter of August Schramm and Justina |

10 | 11 | | Horak, Agnes McClosky was born in Ammannsville on February 21, |
---|
11 | 12 | | 1924; she grew up on a small cotton farm with her siblings, and |
---|
12 | 13 | | later worked at Frank's Restaurant in Schulenburg; and |
---|
13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. McClosky was predeceased by her first husband, |
---|
14 | 15 | | Albert Fisher; she later enjoyed many rewarding years of marriage |
---|
15 | 16 | | with her second husband, Tony McClosky, before his passing; devoted |
---|
16 | 17 | | to her six children, Margaret, Mark, Carol, Margaret Ann, Pat, and |
---|
17 | 18 | | Tony, she delighted in welcoming into her family 13 grandchildren |
---|
18 | 19 | | and 29 great-grandchildren; and |
---|
19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of the Houston area, she was a |
---|
20 | 21 | | valued parishioner of Assumption Catholic Church, where she was a |
---|
21 | 22 | | member of the altar society; she also gave of her time and talents |
---|
22 | 23 | | to the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, the K.J.Z.T. Catholic |
---|
23 | 24 | | Family Fraternal of Texas, and the Polka Lovers Klub of America; in |
---|
24 | 25 | | her leisure time, Mrs. McClosky enjoyed working in her yard, going |
---|
25 | 26 | | polka dancing, and baking and cooking for her loved ones; and |
---|
26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Agnes McClosky lived a rich and purposeful life |
---|
27 | 28 | | centered around her faith and her family, and she will long be |
---|
28 | 29 | | remembered with deep affection by all who knew her; now, therefore, |
---|

30 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

31 | 32 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Agnes Schramm |
