H.R. No. 2298 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Agnes Schramm Fisher McClosky of Houston passed away on September 24, 2013, at the age of 89, leaving her circle of family and friends to cherish their many happy memories of time spent in her company; and WHEREAS, The oldest daughter of August Schramm and Justina Horak, Agnes McClosky was born in Ammannsville on February 21, 1924; she grew up on a small cotton farm with her siblings, and later worked at Frank's Restaurant in Schulenburg; and WHEREAS, Mrs. McClosky was predeceased by her first husband, Albert Fisher; she later enjoyed many rewarding years of marriage with her second husband, Tony McClosky, before his passing; devoted to her six children, Margaret, Mark, Carol, Margaret Ann, Pat, and Tony, she delighted in welcoming into her family 13 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; and WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of the Houston area, she was a valued parishioner of Assumption Catholic Church, where she was a member of the altar society; she also gave of her time and talents to the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, the K.J.Z.T. Catholic Family Fraternal of Texas, and the Polka Lovers Klub of America; in her leisure time, Mrs. McClosky enjoyed working in her yard, going polka dancing, and baking and cooking for her loved ones; and WHEREAS, Agnes McClosky lived a rich and purposeful life centered around her faith and her family, and she will long be remembered with deep affection by all who knew her; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Agnes Schramm Fisher McClosky and extend deepest sympathy to the members of her family: to her children, Margaret Fahrenthold and her husband, Rick, Mark Fisher, Carol Havemann and her husband, Donnie, Margaret Ann Leubner, Pat Chmiel and her husband, Larry, and Tony McClosky; to her sisters, Maggie Kainer and her husband, Joe, Josie Kaase, and Mary Ann Fishbeck and her husband, Marvin; to her sister-in-law, Bernice Schramm; to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Agnes Schramm Fisher McClosky.
