5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Honorable Wayne A. Brascom completed his |

6 | 7 | | distinguished tenure as Llano County judge in December 2014; and |
---|
7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, First elected in 2006, Judge Brascom worked |
---|
8 | 9 | | tirelessly to improve the quality of life available to area |
---|
9 | 10 | | residents; he negotiated the transition from the Llano County |
---|
10 | 11 | | Hospital Authority to the Scott and White Hospital System, and he |
---|
11 | 12 | | also assisted in obtaining medical services for citizens through a |
---|
12 | 13 | | new healthcare waiver; and |
---|
13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, This dynamic Texan enhanced the efficiency of the |
---|
14 | 15 | | probate court, and he worked with the county attorney's office to |
---|
15 | 16 | | develop a bond forfeiture program; in accordance with House Bill |
---|
16 | 17 | | 1117, passed by the 78th Texas Legislature, he worked with the |
---|
17 | 18 | | commissioners court to implement an official road map legally |
---|
18 | 19 | | establishing the roads the county will continue to maintain as |
---|
19 | 20 | | public thoroughfares; and |
---|
20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Committed to meeting the needs of local youth as |
---|
21 | 22 | | well, Judge Brascom served for eight years on the Llano County |
---|
22 | 23 | | Juvenile Probation Board, and he obtained a new classroom building |
---|
23 | 24 | | from the Llano Independent School District for the Head Start |
---|
24 | 25 | | Program in Kingsland; moreover, he procured computers for the |
---|
25 | 26 | | sheriff's office by means of a grant from the governor's office, and |
---|
26 | 27 | | he assisted in arranging funds for the Llano Special Opportunity |
---|
27 | 28 | | Recycle Center; and |
---|
28 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Judge Brascom has further benefited his fellow |
---|
29 | 30 | | citizens in many other leadership roles; he has served the |
---|
30 | 31 | | executive board of the Capital Area Council of Governments as |
---|
31 | 32 | | chair, vice chair, and secretary, and he was a member of the |
---|
32 | 33 | | Corporation of Texas Regionalism, a statewide board that reviews |
---|
33 | 34 | | legislative priorities for Councils of Government; in addition, he |
---|
34 | 35 | | served a term as vice chair during his eight years on the Hill |
---|
35 | 36 | | Country Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Board, and he |
---|
36 | 37 | | was appointed by the governor to participate in the review and |
---|
37 | 38 | | revision of the Health and Safety Code regarding mental health |
---|
38 | 39 | | issues; and |
---|
39 | 40 | | WHEREAS, Through his significant accomplishments in office, |
---|
40 | 41 | | Wayne Brascom helped to make Llano County an even better place in |
---|
41 | 42 | | which to live, and he may take justifiable pride in his |
---|
42 | 43 | | contributions; now, therefore, be it |
---|
43 | 44 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
---|
44 | 45 | | Legislature hereby honor Judge Wayne Brascom for his exemplary |
---|
45 | 46 | | service as Llano County judge and extend to him sincere best wishes |
---|
46 | 47 | | for the future; and, be it further |
---|
47 | 48 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |

48 | 49 | | prepared for Judge Brascom as an expression of high regard by the |
