 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Sandra S. Heatherley has greatly benefited the
 League of Women Voters of Corpus Christi through her dedicated
 service as president; and
 WHEREAS, Since taking office in 2013, Ms. Heatherley has ably
 guided the organization through a period of membership growth; she
 has effectively directed voter registration drives at high schools,
 colleges, and universities, and she has led initiatives related to
 Women's Equality Day, water planning, human trafficking, and other
 issues; and
 WHEREAS, Ms. Heatherley has expanded the outreach of the
 league through issues-based partnerships with the City of Corpus
 Christi and such organizations as the Hispanic Women's Network of
 Texas, Delta Sigma Theta, the Leadership Corpus Christi Alumni
 Association, and the Sierra Club; in addition, she has raised the
 profile of the league in the community, and she has represented the
 chapter at the league's state and national conventions; she
 previously served the chapter as vice president of membership; and
 WHEREAS, In her professional life, Ms. Heatherley is a
 clinical laboratory consultant, and she has served as president of
 Quality Laboratory Consultants for nearly 20 years; her
 distinguished career has included a decade-long tenure as
 laboratory director of the Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public
 Health District; and
 WHEREAS, A graduate of the University of Tulsa, she also
 holds a master's degree in public health from the University of
 Oklahoma; she has given generously of her time and talents to a
 number of organizations, among them the Medical Reserve Corps, the
 Citizens Advisory Health Board, and Paws Up, and she is active in
 the parish of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church; and
 WHEREAS, Sandra Heatherley has earned the respect and
 admiration of innumerable people through her leadership and her
 steadfast commitment to the worthy goals of the League of Women
 Voters, and she may indeed take pride in her accomplishments; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby honor Sandra S. Heatherley for her service as
 president of the League of Women Voters of Corpus Christi and extend
 to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Heatherley as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
