R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Yesenia Velasquez has ably served the people of
Texas as an intern in the office of State Representative Mary
González during the 84th Legislative Session; and
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Velasquez has provided
vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks;
in addition to learning more about the legislative process and the
issues facing the Lone Star State, she has gained valuable
experience in the field of public service; and
WHEREAS, Originally from Gilroy, California, Ms. Velasquez
is a first-year master's student at The University of Texas at
Austin; she is studying curriculum and instruction, and she is
active with the Cultural Studies in Education Graduate Student
Council; and
WHEREAS, Yesenia Velasquez has performed her duties as a
legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is indeed
deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby commend Yesenia Velasquez for her service as a
legislative intern in the office of State Representative Mary
González and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
success in all her endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Velasquez as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
