| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Afuso, an eighth grade student at Bishop |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Each year at thousands of schools across the nation, |

| 10 | 11 | | students in the fourth through eighth grades study land formations, |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | bodies of water, populations, and other global features to compete |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | in state geography bees; using materials from the National |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | Geographic Society, the contest strives to stimulate students' |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | curiosity about the world; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Afuso bested more than 100 other young Texans at |

| 16 | 17 | | the competition in Bedford; he will join winners from throughout |

| 17 | 18 | | the country in Washington, D.C., for the national championship |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | taking place in May; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Through his participation in this challenging |

| 20 | 21 | | event, Joseph Afuso has shown great initiative and ability, and he |

| 21 | 22 | | may indeed look forward to a future bright with promise; now, |
