| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Saul Mendoza has ably served his fellow Texans as |

| 7 | 8 | | Representative James White during the 84th Legislature; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Mendoza's resourcefulness and initiative have |

| 9 | 10 | | earned the appreciation of his colleagues, and his contributions to |

| 10 | 11 | | carrying forth Representative White's legislative agenda have |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | helped address issues facing citizens across the Lone Star State; |

| 12 | 13 | | he worked for the representative during the 83rd Legislature as an |

| 13 | 14 | | intern and aide, and his long service has earned him appreciation |

| 14 | 15 | | as the representative's "staffer of all time"; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, A native of Mexico, Mr. Mendoza moved to California |

| 16 | 17 | | with his family before they settled in Lufkin, where he graduated |

| 17 | 18 | | from high school magna cum laude in 2009; he studied Spanish |

| 18 | 19 | | literature at The University of Texas at Austin, and even before he |

| 19 | 20 | | graduated in 2012, he had already worked on the campaigns of |

| 20 | 21 | | Representatives James White and Jim Landtroop and U.S. Senator Ted |

| 21 | 22 | | Cruz; since then, he has worked for FreedomWorks and the campaigns |

| 22 | 23 | | of State Senator Konni Burton and Governor Greg Abbott; in 2014, he |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | was proud to become a naturalized citizen of the United States; and |

| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, This esteemed public employee has performed his |

| 25 | 26 | | duties as legislative and communications director with skill and |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | dedication, and he is indeed deserving of special recognition for |

| 27 | 28 | | his fine work; now, therefore, be it |

| 28 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
