H.R. No. 2409 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Saul Mendoza has ably served his fellow Texans as legislative and communications director in the office of State Representative James White during the 84th Legislature; and WHEREAS, Mr. Mendoza's resourcefulness and initiative have earned the appreciation of his colleagues, and his contributions to carrying forth Representative White's legislative agenda have helped address issues facing citizens across the Lone Star State; he worked for the representative during the 83rd Legislature as an intern and aide, and his long service has earned him appreciation as the representative's "staffer of all time"; and WHEREAS, A native of Mexico, Mr. Mendoza moved to California with his family before they settled in Lufkin, where he graduated from high school magna cum laude in 2009; he studied Spanish literature at The University of Texas at Austin, and even before he graduated in 2012, he had already worked on the campaigns of Representatives James White and Jim Landtroop and U.S. Senator Ted Cruz; since then, he has worked for FreedomWorks and the campaigns of State Senator Konni Burton and Governor Greg Abbott; in 2014, he was proud to become a naturalized citizen of the United States; and WHEREAS, This esteemed public employee has performed his duties as legislative and communications director with skill and dedication, and he is indeed deserving of special recognition for his fine work; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby commend Saul Mendoza for his service as legislative and communications director in the office of State Representative James White and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Mendoza as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
