 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Matthew Martinez, a junior at Gregory-Portland High
 School, was named the 2015 Mr. Windfest by the Portland Chamber of
 Commerce; and
 WHEREAS, In preparation for Windfest, an annual event
 sponsored by the Portland Chamber of Commerce to celebrate spring,
 the chamber selected an outstanding male and female 11th-grade
 student to represent the chamber and the festival; in his role as
 Mr. Windfest, Mr. Martinez will participate in other chamber
 events throughout the year, and he will receive a scholarship; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Martinez plans to begin his college education
 this summer by taking dual credit courses in English, biology,
 government, and economics at Del Mar College; his goal is to take
 pharmacy classes at Angelo State University; and
 WHEREAS, An outstanding student, Mr. Martinez is a member of
 the Gregory-Portland Y-Lead class, and he is involved with the
 athletics program as a student trainer; he has also developed an
 interest in politics and hopes to travel to the State Capitol to
 participate in the Senate's Sergeant-at-Arms program; and
 WHEREAS, Through hard work and a commitment to excellence,
 this outstanding young Texan has achieved a significant record of
 success, and he indeed deserves special recognition for his many
 accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Matthew Martinez on his selection
 as the 2015 Mr. Windfest and extend to him sincere best wishes for
 the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Martinez as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
