| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Raneem Ashrawi of Austin has ably served her fellow |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Ashrawi has provided |

| 9 | 10 | | vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks; |

| 10 | 11 | | in addition to learning more about the legislative process and the |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State, she has gained |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | valuable experience in the field of public service; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Samir and Faten Ashrawi, Ms. Ashrawi |

| 14 | 15 | | is pursuing a degree in English writing and rhetoric at |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | St. Edward's University; currently in her junior year, she has |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | earned a place on the Dean's List on numerous occasions, and she is |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | an active member of the Alpha Chi National College Honor Society; |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | she has served her fellow students as an orientation leader and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | freshman studies teaching assistant, and she has plans to work in |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | the field of legal advocacy after graduation; and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, |

| 24 | 25 | | therefore, be it |

| 25 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 26 | 27 | | Legislature hereby commend Raneem Ashrawi for her service as a |
