H.R. No. 2520 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Raneem Ashrawi of Austin has ably served her fellow Texans as an intern in the office of State Representative Mary González during the 84th Legislative Session; and WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Ashrawi has provided vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks; in addition to learning more about the legislative process and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State, she has gained valuable experience in the field of public service; and WHEREAS, The daughter of Samir and Faten Ashrawi, Ms. Ashrawi is pursuing a degree in English writing and rhetoric at St. Edward's University; currently in her junior year, she has earned a place on the Dean's List on numerous occasions, and she is an active member of the Alpha Chi National College Honor Society; she has served her fellow students as an orientation leader and freshman studies teaching assistant, and she has plans to work in the field of legal advocacy after graduation; and WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby commend Raneem Ashrawi for her service as a legislative intern in the office of State Representative Mary González and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Ashrawi as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
