| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Founded in 1974, TACHE is a professional association |

| 9 | 10 | | that strives to address the needs of and increase employment |

| 10 | 11 | | opportunities for Hispanics in colleges and universities; and |

| 11 | 12 | | WHEREAS, One of five regional chapters in Texas, the Del Mar |

| 12 | 13 | | College chapter has played a vital role in advancing the mission of |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | its parent association; in addition to funding scholarships for |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | deserving students, chapter members are actively engaged in local, |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | state, and national organizations that advocate for a diverse |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | student body, faculty, and staff at institutions of higher |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | education; moreover, the chapter hosts cultural events during |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | Hispanic Heritage Month and Black History Month as well as a range |

| 19 | 20 | | of other social functions throughout the year; and |

| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Members of the Del Mar College chapter of TACHE have |

| 21 | 22 | | helped foster diversity at their school and in the community at |

| 22 | 23 | | large, and it is indeed fitting to recognize their outstanding |
