H.R. No. 2647
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The members of the Jasper High School boys' track
team distinguished themselves with their performance at the
District 19-4A and 20-4A area track and field meet on April 22-23,
2015, finishing in third place; and
WHEREAS, The Bulldogs tallied a total of 84 points, and
Jasper athletes took home titles in three events; the team was led
by the relay squad of Ledale White, Jakeithan Adams, Tevin Sells,
and Dan Adams, who captured first place in both the 4 x 100-meter
and 4 x 200-meter races; Dan Adams was also the winner of the
200-meter dash, and Mr. Sells took runner-up honors in the
100-meter dash; Simon Mijares performed well in the 1,600-meter
run, earning third place honors, and Cade Skuza finished third
overall in the pole vault; and
WHEREAS, Also competing for the Bulldogs at the event were
Isaiah Whitley and Kionte Stoker in the hurdles and Leo Wysingle in
the shot put; and
WHEREAS, With their efforts in area competition, the members
of the Jasper High School boys' track and field team proudly
represented their school, and the dedication these students have
demonstrated is sure to serve them well in the years ahead; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby recognize the Jasper High School boys' track
team on its performance at the District 19-4A and 20-4A area track
and field meet and extend to its members sincere best wishes for
continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
