H.R. No. 2703
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Yesenia Velasquez has ably served the people of
Texas as an education fellow in the office of State Representative
Mary González during the 84th Legislative Session; and
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Velasquez has provided
vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks;
in addition to learning more about the legislative process and the
issues facing the Lone Star State, she has gained valuable
experience in the field of public service; and
WHEREAS, The daughter of proud parents Martha and Santiago
Velasquez, Ms. Velasquez is originally from Gilroy, California;
she is a first-year master's student at The University of Texas at
Austin, where she is studying curriculum and instruction, and she
is active with the Cultural Studies in Education Graduate Student
Council; and
WHEREAS, Yesenia Velasquez has performed her duties as an
education fellow with skill and dedication, and she is indeed
deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby commend Yesenia Velasquez for her service as an
education fellow in the office of State Representative Mary
González and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
success in all her endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Velasquez as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
