H.R. No. 2705
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Sixth-graders from Kountze Intermediate School
distinguished themselves with their performance at the Texas Math
and Science Coaches Association Middle School Championship Meet on
April 11, 2015, capturing first place in general mathematics; and
WHEREAS, Competing against sixth-graders from 14 other 3A
schools at The University of Texas at San Antonio, the members of
the Kountze squad combined scores to bring home the title in the
general mathematics category; the school was led by Jaythan Davis,
who posted a perfect score, and they also received vital
contributions from team members Seth Mehl, Eddie Powell, Raven
Roberts, Leigh Eppes, and Zoey Helegeda; and
WHEREAS, The Kountze Intermediate team was guided at the meet
by teacher and sponsor Sheila LeBlanc, who inspired the students to
perform at their full potential; and
WHEREAS, With their fine showing at the Middle School
Championship Meet, these bright young Texans have brought great
credit to their school, and they may take justifiable pride in the
skill and dedication they have demonstrated; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the students from Kountze
Intermediate School on their performance at the Texas Math and
Science Coaches Association Middle School Championship Meet and
extend to them sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
