H.R. No. 2706
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Katlin Kerl, a senior at Silsbee High School, has
signed a national letter of intent to play softball and study at San
Jacinto College; and
WHEREAS, The daughter of Roger and Carol Wilson, Ms. Kerl has
lettered for four years as a catcher on the Lady Tigers softball
team; she was awarded a full scholarship to attend SJC after an
outstanding senior campaign in which she compiled a .409 batting
average, 22 stolen bases, and 14 runs batted in; and
WHEREAS, Earning well-deserved recognition for her inspired
play on the diamond, Ms. Kerl was named the district's Newcomer of
the Year in 2012 for her impressive freshman season, and she has
been selected to the All-District 21-3A softball team on three
occasions; and
WHEREAS, Katlin Kerl has pursued her goals with remarkable
drive and an enduring commitment to excellence, and she may take
great pride in all that she has accomplished as she looks ahead to a
future bright with promise; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Katlin Kerl on signing a national
letter of intent to play for the San Jacinto College softball team
and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Kerl as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
