H.R. No. 2730
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Elizabeth Baker, a music teacher at Mary Martin
Elementary School in Weatherford, has been honored with a 2015 Best
of the Best award by the Weatherford Star-Telegram; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Baker, now in her fourth year at Martin
Elementary, was honored for her dedication to enriching the lives
of her students through music and theater; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of the University of North Texas,
Ms. Baker initially taught in the Brock Independent School
District, and she joined Weatherford ISD after spending a number of
years raising her three children; in addition to her duties in the
classroom, she works with a team of volunteers to produce the annual
Mary Martin Elementary spring musical as a tribute to the school's
Broadway star namesake; and
WHEREAS, Elizabeth Baker has served as a role model,
motivator, and mentor, exemplifying the qualities that are the
hallmarks of a great teacher, and she has earned the respect and
admiration of her colleagues and students alike; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Elizabeth Baker on being named Best
Teacher as part of the Best of the Best awards from the Weatherford
Star-Telegram and extend to her warm wishes for continued success
with her important work; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Baker as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
