R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The 91st birthday of an esteemed Texan is indeed
cause for celebration, and Lura Rhodes of Newton commemorated this
special milestone on May 1, 2015; and
WHEREAS, From the Great Depression and World War II to the
dawn of the space age and the invention of the Internet, Mr. Rhodes
has lived through an array of historic events and witnessed
remarkable changes and marvels since his birth in 1924; and
WHEREAS, A source of wisdom and joy, he has brightened many
lives over the years, and he is deeply cherished by his friends and
family; and
WHEREAS, Lura Rhodes is an inspiration to all who have the
good fortune to know him, and his 91st birthday offers a welcome
opportunity to remind him of the special place he holds in the
hearts of his loved ones; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Lura Rhodes on his 91st birthday
and extend to him heartfelt best wishes for continued happiness;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Rhodes as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
