| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Karla Rios has ably served her fellow Texans as an |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Rios has provided vital |

| 9 | 10 | | assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks, |

| 10 | 11 | | including reading, analyzing, and researching bills and addressing |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | the needs of constituents; in addition to learning more about the |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | legislative process and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star |

| 13 | 14 | | State, she has gained valuable experience in the field of public |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | service; and |

| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of proud parents Ricardo and Claudia |

| 16 | 17 | | Rios, Ms. Rios is a junior at The University of Texas at Austin, |

| 17 | 18 | | where she is pursuing a degree in social work and government and is |

| 18 | 19 | | active in the Longhorn Band, the Mariachi Ensemble, and Tau Beta |

| 19 | 20 | | Sigma; and |

| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her |

| 21 | 22 | | duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is |

| 22 | 23 | | indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, |

| 24 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
