H.R. No. 2773
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Three members of the Kirbyville Junior High School
track and field team distinguished themselves with record-setting
performances at the district track meet on April 6, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Daphne Chism established two new school marks with
her times of 16.98 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles and 53.47
seconds in the 300-meter hurdles; also setting new school records
were Shay Pickering with a triple jump of 29 feet, 7 inches, and
Hailey Davis with a discus throw of 79 feet, 10 inches; and
WHEREAS, With their remarkable showings at the district track
meet, these talented student-athletes have brought credit to their
school, and they may take justifiable pride in the skill and
dedication they have demonstrated; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Daphne Chism, Shay Pickering, and
Hailey Davis on establishing new school track and field records and
extend to them sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
for the athletes as an expression of high regard by the Texas House
of Representatives.
