| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Ramon Holguin can take well-deserved pride in the |

| 6 | 7 | | outstanding service he has rendered to his community as a member of |

| 7 | 8 | | the San Elizario Independent School District Board of Trustees; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, In a job that requires the commitment of public |

| 9 | 10 | | support and effective collaboration with parents, teachers, and |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | administrators, Mr. Holguin has worked tirelessly to advance the |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | quality of schools in his district; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, A Vietnam veteran, Mr. Holguin retired from the |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | military as a sergeant first class after nearly two decades of |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | distinguished service; he has completed a number of terms as |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | president and vice president during his 21-year tenure with the |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | school board, and he is also an active volunteer with such |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | organizations as the San Elizario Genealogy and Historical Society, |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | the Veterans Committee, and the San Elizario Fiesta; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Through his unwavering dedication to the students |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | and staff of San Elizario ISD, Ramon Holguin has helped foster a |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | supportive and challenging educational environment, and in so |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | doing, he has earned the respect and appreciation of his fellow |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | Texans; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 25 | 26 | | Legislature hereby honor Ramon Holguin for his service on the San |

| 26 | 27 | | Elizario ISD Board of Trustees and extend to him sincere best wishes |
