H.R. No. 2782
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Ramon Holguin can take well-deserved pride in the
outstanding service he has rendered to his community as a member of
the San Elizario Independent School District Board of Trustees; and
WHEREAS, In a job that requires the commitment of public
support and effective collaboration with parents, teachers, and
administrators, Mr. Holguin has worked tirelessly to advance the
quality of schools in his district; and
WHEREAS, A Vietnam veteran, Mr. Holguin retired from the
military as a sergeant first class after nearly two decades of
distinguished service; he has completed a number of terms as
president and vice president during his 21-year tenure with the
school board, and he is also an active volunteer with such
organizations as the San Elizario Genealogy and Historical Society,
the Veterans Committee, and the San Elizario Fiesta; and
WHEREAS, Through his unwavering dedication to the students
and staff of San Elizario ISD, Ramon Holguin has helped foster a
supportive and challenging educational environment, and in so
doing, he has earned the respect and appreciation of his fellow
Texans; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby honor Ramon Holguin for his service on the San
Elizario ISD Board of Trustees and extend to him sincere best wishes
for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Holguin as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
