| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Zion Lutheran Church of McGregor has set an |

| 7 | 8 | | donation of handmade quilts to the McGregor Volunteer Fire |

| 8 | 9 | | Department and the Family Abuse Center in Waco; and |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Each year, Zion's quilting group creates more than |

| 10 | 11 | | 100 quilts, some of which are presented to area entities to comfort |

| 11 | 12 | | the homeless and other individuals in need; the balance are sent to |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | the Lutheran World Relief Quilts and Kits program, along with |

| 13 | 14 | | personal care, school, and baby kits assembled by the McGregor |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | congregation; and |

| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Through its admirable support, Zion Lutheran has |

| 16 | 17 | | made a meaningful difference in the lives of people in Central Texas |

| 17 | 18 | | and throughout the world, and it is truly a pleasure to honor its |

| 18 | 19 | | members for their noteworthy contributions; now, therefore, be it |

| 19 | 20 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 20 | 21 | | Legislature hereby commend Zion Lutheran Church for its donations |

| 21 | 22 | | to the McGregor Volunteer Fire Department and the Family Abuse |

| 22 | 23 | | Center in Waco and extend to all those associated with the church |
