R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Zion Lutheran Church of McGregor has set an
inspiring example of compassionate giving with its generous
donation of handmade quilts to the McGregor Volunteer Fire
Department and the Family Abuse Center in Waco; and
WHEREAS, Each year, Zion's quilting group creates more than
100 quilts, some of which are presented to area entities to comfort
the homeless and other individuals in need; the balance are sent to
the Lutheran World Relief Quilts and Kits program, along with
personal care, school, and baby kits assembled by the McGregor
congregation; and
WHEREAS, Through its admirable support, Zion Lutheran has
made a meaningful difference in the lives of people in Central Texas
and throughout the world, and it is truly a pleasure to honor its
members for their noteworthy contributions; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby commend Zion Lutheran Church for its donations
to the McGregor Volunteer Fire Department and the Family Abuse
Center in Waco and extend to all those associated with the church
sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the church as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
