| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Residents of Tyler County benefit each day from the |

| 7 | 8 | | quality of life in their communities through the fulfillment of |

|---|
| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Martin Nash assumed the office of Tyler County |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | commissioner for Precinct No. 1 in 2005, and he is currently |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | serving his third consecutive term in that post; in addition to |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | handling his duties with the commissioners court, he contributes |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | his time and talents to a number of important area groups, including |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | the Deep East Texas Council of Governments, the Tyler County |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Appraisal Board, the Tyler County Hospital Board of Directors, and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | the Tyler County Chamber of Commerce; moreover, he has held a |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | gubernatorial appointment as presiding officer of the Deep East |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | Texas Regional Review Committee; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan served for six years in the U.S. |

| 20 | 21 | | Coast Guard and then enjoyed a notable career with Southwestern |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | Bell before retiring at the age of 51; a longtime resident of Tyler |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | County, he is also a valued congregant at Our Lady of the Pines |

| 23 | 24 | | Catholic Church, where he has held teaching positions for more than |

| 24 | 25 | | 18 years; and |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Nash is blessed with the |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | love and support of his wife, Claudia, and their three children, |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | Holly, Marty, and Brent; and |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Martin Nash has demonstrated a steadfast commitment |

| 29 | 30 | | to making Tyler County an even better place in which to live and |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | work, and in so doing, he has earned the respect and appreciation of |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | countless fellow Texans; now, therefore, be it |

| 32 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 33 | 34 | | Legislature hereby commend Martin Nash for his service as Tyler |

| 34 | 35 | | County commissioner for Precinct 1 and extend to him sincere best |
