H.R. No. 2795 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Residents of Tyler County benefit each day from the contributions of those public servants who greatly improve the quality of life in their communities through the fulfillment of their duties; and WHEREAS, Martin Nash assumed the office of Tyler County commissioner for Precinct No. 1 in 2005, and he is currently serving his third consecutive term in that post; in addition to handling his duties with the commissioners court, he contributes his time and talents to a number of important area groups, including the Deep East Texas Council of Governments, the Tyler County Appraisal Board, the Tyler County Hospital Board of Directors, and the Tyler County Chamber of Commerce; moreover, he has held a gubernatorial appointment as presiding officer of the Deep East Texas Regional Review Committee; and WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan served for six years in the U.S. Coast Guard and then enjoyed a notable career with Southwestern Bell before retiring at the age of 51; a longtime resident of Tyler County, he is also a valued congregant at Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church, where he has held teaching positions for more than 18 years; and WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Nash is blessed with the love and support of his wife, Claudia, and their three children, Holly, Marty, and Brent; and WHEREAS, Martin Nash has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to making Tyler County an even better place in which to live and work, and in so doing, he has earned the respect and appreciation of countless fellow Texans; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby commend Martin Nash for his service as Tyler County commissioner for Precinct 1 and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Nash as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
