 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The Salt Lick in Driftwood brought its savory
 specialties to the State Capitol during the 84th Legislative
 Session as one of the featured restaurants for "Bar-B-Quesday"; and
 WHEREAS, Hosted on Tuesdays by State Representative Jason
 Isaac, this popular event provides a showcase for some of the finest
 barbecue establishments from House District 45; and
 WHEREAS, The Salt Lick got its start in 1967, when Thurman
 Roberts, a third-generation resident of Driftwood, began following
 his grandmother's recipe and slow-cooking barbecue over coals and
 offering it for sale each weekend; his brisket, sausage, turkey,
 and pork and beef ribs proved such a hit that the operation soon
 developed into a full-time restaurant; today, The Salt Lick is run
 by Thurman's son, Scott, and it draws thousands of customers each
 week, not only at the original Driftwood location but also at its
 outlets in Round Rock, Austin, and Oklahoma City; and
 WHEREAS, Texas barbecue is renowned across the nation and
 around the world, and this proud culinary tradition is maintained
 and enriched by outstanding Central Texas businesses such as The
 Salt Lick; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby commend The Salt Lick for its participation in
 Bar-B-Quesday and extend sincere best wishes to Scott Roberts and
 his staff for continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for The Salt Lick as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
