R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The members of the Sharyland North Junior High
School chess team distinguished themselves with their performance
at the United States Chess Federation National Junior High
Championship in April 2015, finishing in third place; and
WHEREAS, Competing in the K-8 Under 1000 division at the Galt
House in Louisville, the team received essential contributions from
each player as they outmaneuvered their opponents to claim the
third-place trophy; and
WHEREAS, All members of the team benefited greatly throughout
the year from valuable guidance provided by SNJHS chess coach
Adrian Castillo; and
WHEREAS, With their accomplishments at the National Junior
High Championship, the members of the Sharyland North Junior High
School chess team proudly represented their school, and the
dedication the students have demonstrated is sure to serve them
well in the years ahead; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the Sharyland North Junior High School
chess team on its performance at the United States Chess Federation 2015
National Junior High Championship and extend to the team's members and
coach sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
