| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The untimely death of K-9 partner Indy on February |

| 6 | 7 | | 15, 2015, at the age of six, brought a great loss to the Hidalgo |

| 7 | 8 | | County Sheriff's Office; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A Belgian Malinois, Indy served the sheriff's office |

| 9 | 10 | | for over four years; he was dedicated to his work, and he won the |

| 10 | 11 | | admiration of the department for his productivity and his |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | aggressiveness in confronting the criminal element; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, The passing of Indy also deeply saddened K-9 |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | officers from across South Texas, who joined in celebrating the |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | contributions of this wonderful dog at a memorial ceremony; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Through his devotion to his duties, Indy embodied |

| 16 | 17 | | the K-9 division's motto "Semper Cavere," meaning "forever on |

| 17 | 18 | | guard," and although he is deeply missed, he will continue to hold a |

| 18 | 19 | | special place in the hearts of his colleagues; now, therefore, be it |

| 19 | 20 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 20 | 21 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of K-9 partner Indy and |

| 21 | 22 | | extend sincere sympathy to the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office; |
