No. 2859 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Derek Franklin Flores is graduating as the salutatorian of the senior class of Robstown High School in 2015; and WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the highest academic standards; Mr. Flores has demonstrated a thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects, with his favorites being mathematics and science; in addition, he participated in numerous extracurricular activities, including SkillsUSA, UIL competitions, and National Honor Society; and WHEREAS, The son of Frank and Mary Flores, Mr. Flores plans to continue his education by enrolling at Texas A&M University--Kingsville to study chemical engineering; and WHEREAS, Throughout his academic career, Derek Franklin Flores has earned the respect and admiration of his teachers and classmates, and his exceptional scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment to excellence have opened the way to limitless opportunities for this remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Derek Franklin Flores, salutatorian of the Class of 2015 at Robstown High School, and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success as he begins the next exciting chapter of his life; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Flores as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
