R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Rebecca Buonavita Posa of The University of Texas at
Austin Cockrell School of Engineering has been named a recipient of
a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship; and
WHEREAS, A graduate student in the Department of Civil,
Architectural, and Environmental Engineering, Ms. Posa will
receive three years of financial support within a five-year
fellowship period; the grant includes both a $34,000 annual stipend
and a yearly cost-of-education allowance to the school; and
WHEREAS, The NSF Graduate Fellowship Program supports
research in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics by
identifying students early in their graduate careers who have the
potential for advancing knowledge in their disciplines; and
WHEREAS, Rebecca Posa has demonstrated an exceptional
commitment to excellence in her field, and she may indeed look
forward to a future bright with promise; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Rebecca Buonavita Posa on her
receipt of a Graduate Research Fellowship from the National Science
Foundation and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Posa as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
